I keep on meeting Buddha. I wish he would get off my case. His appearance is more metaphysical than physical. I went to see the doctor at the hospital – he was not Buddha – he matter of factly said, I do not expect you to be alive in five years. That is what he expects with a person with my condition to live. I have organized for a second opinion, but I would be surprised if the diagnosis was radically changed.

Jesus of Nazareth has an extraordinary story. The same is true of Buddha. Both narratives have been enhanced by mythical constructs, but that is the nature of story telling. The historical case for Buddha seems to have been better established.

Leonard Cohen is still giving live performances. Now a septuagnarian performer his songs have sometimes had a dark underlining. He in recent days performed at the Gamut Ran Football Stadium in Israel.

I had heard of ionic and covalent chemical bonds, but not quantum chemistry. Another form of chemical bond was predicted by Enrico Fermi, and now it seems that its existence has been realized.
