Leonardo Da Vinci was born in 1452. Constantinople fell to the Turkish canons in 1453. But the surprising thing about the Renaissance was that it had earlier historical roots.

The dog blogs have not been happening recently. The is not that Dexter and Hannah have been getting out, or Рheaven forbid Рthere was a shortage of photos. The reason for inertia in the universe probably is most related to size and the mass of the bodies. I have no idea if it is true but  I suppose that energy forms at the sub-atomic level are not inert.

An environment can be photographed, but to be experienced it must be understood. Experience is a function of shared collective programming of mind. There is more to the stories of culture Рbut it seems to be the case we miss much.

Dog Blog: Waiting on a Sunny Day February 10, 2016

To clarify, most days were sunny at some stage, but they gave way to overcast conditions with rain, and on one day an intense, hour-long hail storm. The latter event, I have now been told. caused minor damage to a neighbours car.

Dog Blog: Invasion Day Week February 3, 2016

Invasion Day came and went for another year. It might be an exercise in historical reflection, but it never seems to deliver. For example, considering last year, if given a chance, Phil would probably say his jousting days are done. The only memory I have this year is of the sound of lawn mowers – a more apt metaphor.

I was in a newsagent, buying the Saturday paper, and made a general comment regarding the recent usual weather. I was surprised by the response, implicitly of climate change denial. The weather is not a subject for small talk any more.

The new year has opened with rain, which is far better than the alternative. The weather, as always, is a mystery that looms over us. The experience of climate is more elusive, dependent as it is, on memory.

Hard to believe now that it was Christmas Eve this time last week. While Dexter and Hannah are going out, I am not keeping up a weekly report.

Sometimes Dexter and Hannah may look back, and sometimes when they do something I am ready to catch that moment. Most of the time we are moving on, getting to where we are going without reflection.

I do not seem able to complete on time the weekly presentation of photos. It was always going to be a more difficult task with the passage of time. Now, there are emergent signs that I am no longer physically capable of completing the walks. Let’s hope that conclusion is inaccurate.

The record is plain. This past week, Dexter and Hannah stepped out five times. They took there deprivation, as far as can be observed, in good grace. When we did take out chances, when we came back there were leeches everywhere suggesting the original screening between the their toes was less than effective.

This title suggests colours. You could say it represents yellow and black. The reference does not stop with Dexter and Hannah. Other things going, especially on Sunday morning. The Rugby World Cup final was between the Wallabies and the All Blacks. As it happens, I saw an actual wallaby in Samson’s, the horse, paddock.

As always there are quite a few issues with the title. Of course, it is not a selection in quite the Dad and Dave sense. Still this suburban block abutting the bush is a home for Dexter and Hannah.

Our presence in the landscape perishes almost as soon as we leave it. Dexter and Hannah don’t do photographs but relish the information that smells provide. Walking tourists might leave the occasional imprint from their shoes, which does not last, and that is about it.

FRIDAY NIGHT DOG BLOG – Day by Day Rain September 26, 2015

We did not go out much this past week. Most days, with the exception of last Sunday, a gentle rain fell, which for some reason always brings to mind the quality of mercy. However, Dexter and Hannah did not feel twice blessed. There was no evidence that I noticed of whinging. Dogs can be problems at times, but they are not given to common human shortcomings.

Since it is now Spring, the park was open on Saturday and we diverted up towards the dam. The steepest options were chosen and it proved more demanding than I was prepared for. Dexter and Hannah took it good stride and probably thought nothing of it, other than there was more of interest on the ground.

As you may guess, Dexter and Hannah stepped outside again this week for a jaunt on their leads, which went in every direction including the investigations of whatever was discovered on the ground. They are dogs, there life span is somewhat shorter than among fortunate humans.
