FRIDAY NIGHT DOG BLOG: FORWARD AND BACK February 6, 2010

For the dogs not getting out is a source of disquiet, but for humans not being able to walk is much more. We have a mutual dependency to satisfy needs.

The weather has been against us this week. We seem to have been struck by repeated storms, a pattern that I cannot remember. Needless to say, we seek to go out when we can even if that means ignoring the rain.

Recovery after an operation and time in a hospital bed takes time and is not a wholly forward progression. The dogs never seem to be concerned with such questions, or least they do not give any indication of such concerns. They are happy to be out and about:

Given the general theme, and because it had been previously selected, Swan Lake might fit the bill:

We will go to see whether Friday Ark at Modulator is still boarding appreciating we are late arrivals this week.

One step forward.. two steps back. Yes.. that is often the way of it on the road to recovery. In my field of work I see this often. But I have also been witness to the end result, which more often than not is indeed recovery. Please know that you and your wife are often in my thoughts. Wishing you calmer skies and a more forward marching path.

Thank you very much for thoughts Colleen. I will tell Susan what you said. Her recovery – when it happens – may bring a different situation for us to deal with, which will be a lot better than what the alternative might have been.
