FRIDAY NIGHT DOG BLOG: “HERE COMES THE SUN” November 9, 2013

Technology changes the way life is lived. Or it might, if some of us could get our act together. Dexter and Hannah would adapt.

This week we had some solar panels installed. They might save money. It is a feasible technology, and might help to get us off coal-fired power stations and thereby reduce carbon emissions. Perhaps they could be linked to wind turbines, or even a wind generators that can be fitted to the roof. As it is we feed back into the power gird. For some reason tidal power generators do not seem to be a practical option – and they would probably work well with rising global sea levels.

There is a lot to learn about photo voltaic cells. They only work in the daytime with the sunshine. We might be getting false indications as we head to summer. Who knows what will happen in winter. I discovered we have a problem with shadows from trees.

I don’t think that Dexter and Hannah have noticed anything. And they went out and followed the usual paths. Obviously we could do with sustained rain to get the creeks flowing again. There were too many photos.

Paul Simon and some friends sing “Here Comes the Sun” in memory of George Harrison:

We will join Friday Ark, if it is sailing this week.
