Dexter and Hannah did not know 4 October was World Animal Day. Most of these special days go by without recognition, the failure to appreciate thelr significance. Perhaps today I should make an exception.

According to Wikipedia:

World Animal Day is celebrated each year on October the 4th. It started in Florence, Italy in 1931 at a convention of ecologists.[1] On this day, animal life in all its forms is celebrated, and special events are planned in locations all over the globe. The 4th of October was originally chosen for World Animal Day because it is the feast day of Francis of Assisi, a nature lover and patron saint of animals and the environment. Numerous churches throughout the world observe the Sunday closest to October the 4th with a Blessing of the Animals.

Of course, it is of interest to observe that l’anima refers to the soul of a person. I suppose that it is a lot easier to understand the significance of trees, and plants that it to recognize the place of animals in nature.

We have had more evidence of a warming planet. September was the warmest on record. (These  results are consistent with those across Australia.) These records are so frequent that they too are ignored.

To be honest, I think not think I had any photos this week, but I found more than a few, and tried to make the best of them:

Empathy is an ingredient in all important relationships. Andrea Bocelli sings, Ill Maro Calmo Della Sera, to brush up on our Italiano:

Maybe Friday Ark is sailing this week. We will see. If it is, we should board to join the other canines.

The arrangement of the photos was made possible by Picasa.
