FRIDAY NIGHT DOG BLOG: “WHAT I THOUGHT OF YOU” May 11, 2013

I went with a neighbour and two children to visit our former neighbour, Ernie, at his nursing home. Along the way we listened to Holly Throsby.

Ernie was in fine fettle. He was having none of my nonsense when I suggested he was seventy-six. “My foot”, he said, “I am ninety-six”. He is a testament to the fact, even for determinedly independent people, it is just better to have somebody cooking meals and ensuring that you have all that is needed, such as hearing aids. He has an interest there as well. He is successfully growing flowers and vegetables.

Otherwise, Dexter and Hannah continued to follow the routine, to the extent that routine exists. I have been letting Hannah off the lead to roam and so far there have been no problems.
