In recent days a study has been publishing suggesting that over the past 11,300 years the mean surface temperature has been showing cooling trend, until the hundred years or so.

The judgement is sources to the Bureau of Meteorology.  So I suppose, allowing for the inevitable conspiracy theorists, I will take their word for it. Of course, now we are in Autumn, at least in terms of the calendar, the risk of bush fires is, if not over, reduced. Can there now be too much rain? All I know is that it was badly needed.

Perhaps the state of the ecosystem is worst than we might like to imagine. It may be in such a state that a rational person cannot ignore it. Can capitalism as it has evolved be allowed to continue? The environmental crisis, if it can be recognized is a crisis for corporate capitalism.

Over the last weeks, almost every day it has rained. Sunny days without rain have been rare.  The positive side to these circumstances is that there have not been bushfires and the water storages are relatively full.
