You will  appreciate of course, the dogs test my patience. Sometimes it is difficult, if not impossible to catch them looking in the same direction. Dexter and Hannah are no exceptions.

And equally we can more metaphorically look beyond the escarpment, to the back of beyond, to the land of the red dust. Since we are coastal dwellers we often do not direct experience. A person confided to me in the coffee shop the other day that when she travels around Australia that when she gets to it, she is going to roll in the red dust. Looking in the other direction would take us to Aotearoa.

None of this would be top of the mind for Dexter and Hannah, but one thing I should be doing. although I apply an application, is check them for ticks when we get back.

(I think this might be a crested pigeon)

………….
As the earth journeys, and time does not wait, and the sun sets over the escarpment, there is the Inland. Redgum sings Diamantina Drover:

…………………….

Travelling east we might come across Akoako O Te Rangi performed by Maisey Rika:

……………………………

We will go and board Friday Ark – then see what happens.
