Julian Assange is the subject of an inquiry in Sweden concerning allegations made against him requiring him to answer questions put by the Prosecutor who adopted his case. She will not travel to London to question Assange or use a video hook-up.

The notion of a Department of Peace proposed by, for example Dennis Kucinich, struck me as one of those ideas with which I could not come to terms so conditioned am to war and defence as the norm for governments. The war in Syria has changed my mind.

Today marked the 67th anniversary of  the bombing of Hiroshima., the first use of nuclear weapons.  Three days later, another bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. Civilization did not end, neither did the still continuing export of uranium, and other countries have acquired nuclear weapons so increasing the possibility of nuclear war.
