I was too tired to post the weekly break in the apparent monologue last night.
I have been consulting Sasha and Dexter as to how to vote today in the State Election. In NSW we have an Optional Preferential System for both the Legislative Assembly and Council. Until Federal voting an elector is not compelled to distribute preferences for all candidates. A voter can in effect vote as in a simple plurality or first past the post system, and the major are recommending this approach in the Legislative Assembly. Half, or 21 seats, will be decided this election for the upper house, the Legislative Council, elected on a state-wide basis. Elections are for four years. Voting is compulsory.
Sasha and Dexter will like the fact that the outcome will be a tale of multiple preferences (and exhausted preferences). We will have to see what happens as to the details. The polls are very clear about the overall outcome.
