FRIDAY NIGHT DOG BLOG – TRANSITIONS January 29, 2011

On the day the Ancient Regime falls in Cairo, we find ourselves engaged in another difficult transition from hospital to home. Our patient was returned to us on Australia Day.
Hospital after 50 days becomes too much, and the judgment to return home is understood as involving obstacles. And yet some things are immediately better. The Community Nurse changed the bandage on the wound left by the tracheal implant. And, of course, the quality of help available is not all that proficient – much like the cooking and other skills that are guessed at rather than engaged with knowledge.
After taking a dive yesterday, the routine has been re-established and the dogs went for walk late yesterday – although I bet they thought that was not going to happen. We can look at what happened last year about this time – some things don’t change in appearance although they do in reality:
