FRIDAY NIGHT DOG BLOG – AUTUMN LEAVES April 10, 2010

As the world turns and floats on its elliptical journey through space, the seasons change.

The seasons are simply patterns of weather that influence nature. In this part of the world following the Invasion, a European cultural pattern has been imposed, if partially, on the environment. And yes the leaves do fall in Autumn filling up the gutters and covering the drive to which the natives, in the form of Cockatoos, add their contributions. Sasha and Dexter seem to regard the latter as delicacies but I cannot share their opinion.

Now I am not visiting hospital everyday, I have more time to do things that have been neglected. It is possible to have the time and the prompting but still lack the motivation. Perhaps I need to reconstruct my cultural box. In doing so, I think I would still have time, make time, to frame Sasha and Dexter on their and my outings and exercise – not much I know but something that might be built on.

Eva Cassidy sang Autumn Leaves, resonant with melancholy (I heard this song on the radio and recognized the singer -amazing for me!):

Let’s wrap with Anitras Dance from Peer Gynt – which might be autumnal or aliterative:

……………………..
And then we head off to another pier to see whether Friday Ark has set sail.

……………………………
Finally leaving to acknowledge Picasa . . .

Great pictures and I LOVE Eva Cassidy!

Here is another one of my favorite versions with the great jazz pianist, Keith Jarrett: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io1o1Hwpo8Y.

Good to hear that your wife is doing better. Peace and love…

Thanks Judith.

Her story was sad, but Eva Cassidy was a wonderful singer. I don’t know anything about technical descriptions but youtube allows the comparisons to be made.

Considering where she was, it is great to have Susan home.

Thanks too for the link.

Even though I am well versed in how the world revolves and seasons change, it always seems to have me pause to think that somewhere it is fall when here all signs point to spring. Quite amazing really. :-) Love the dog photos. Sasha and Dexter appear content.

And.. I am so happy to hear that Susan is home. I hope things are going well. Your journey lately has not been an easy one. I am hoping it helps to know you have a friend on the topsy-turvy side of your autumn. :-)

Thank you very much Colleen.

I do not envy your winters, but you certainly get to experience the differences of seasonal change.

Sasha and Dexter always seem content, so let us suppose their needs are being meet.

Susan is home, but realistically she is still in recovery. It is very helpful to have a friend on the other side of Autumn and now of the ICU. I hope all is going well with your new life.
