The only exception to the historical precedent is the US American Empire that goes on and on beyond the sunset to outer space. And yet brave little Israel, whose Prime Minister has just announced more settlements in East Jerusalem as he was speaking with the US President has no US bases, and yet they as nation states are somehow distinct entities.
