There is no flow about walking the dogs. There are stops all over the place.
Still when the sun shines Sasha and Dexter seem have reason to smile (if that is what they are doing).

An enlighted Sasha:
A more that ususal circumspect Dexter:
There is time for serious contemplation – from Dexter:
The sunshine seems to cheer the dogs:
Sasha was happy to meet and greet the white horse:
While the story is more ambulation than andante, Mozart had the score:

And here for the record evidence of an ambulatory approach:

And this week we will follow precendent and trail over to Friday Ark, at Modulator, to see you might come onboard.

I love your opening line, wmmbb. And, absolutely adore the Mozart. It’s one of my all-time favorite pieces. BEAUTIFUL! Also loved Sasha with the white horses.
Thanks Judith.
I appreciate your comments. Now I have a word to describe what we often do.
Good word for the experience, wmmbb!
Wmmbb – I’d like to also say that one of the reasons that I like this series is that there is humility here. It never seems that while you are the “leader,” as in they are not going to lead you forever in some obsure place that will take you for some 40 mile walk daily, you never seem to lead with a strong hand. It seems like an experience for you and them, together. This is very nice.
Often times I see during my walks and bike rides humans jerking and pulling on dogs who would probably come along rather nicely without such pressure; they seem already “trained.” I have often wondered if this has more to do with the humans than the dogs. What seems necessary to break a dog in I could probably personally never do.
I have also noticed that if the humans are super aggressive their dogs seem to be too; the reverse also seems true. Communications of all kind, spoken and active, have their influences on species of all kind.
Our conscious efforts in all things probably need a closer look at. I try to do this. Many times I am successful; other time I am not. Yet, I keep trying.
Thanks for this series. I like it.
I try to be patient, but I appreciate the irritation of those who are short of time. I think you are right. You give them a bit of time to sniff and then they will come along.
Having two dogs is an advantage, because at some point they will both be waiting for the other. A natural environment with fewer people has advantages over an urban environment, with less perceived social pressure.
But were you able to ask the dogs, they would probably say I was very impatient.
Aggressive and threatening dogs are a worry, and I think you are correct in suggesting they reflect the mentality of their owners, and often their intention. Dexter is prone to be aggressive to other dogs. I either have him tied up to a tree or tied around my waist. If anybody comes along, I get him to sit, and I grab his harness. That way I figure I have control and got the response, for which he was breed off, switched off. I try to make his desire to obey me more rewarding than his inherent aggressiveness in the situation.
On the general level, while sounding like selling, communicating requires building up a bond of genuine understanding and empathy. That appears at first sight to be redundant, but I think the mix is important. We metaphorically engage with our head and our heart. I also like to think that communciation creates community.
“But were you able to ask the dogs, they would probably say I was very impatient.”
LOL!
If only they could talk, eh? I tend to believe that dogs do a fair amount of communication, words are not the only form of such.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

Betty:
Neither Sasha or Dexter fit into the small category, but your reference may be of interest to others.
I thought it was going to be some boring old post, but it really compensated for my time.Thank you so much
