I do not read Afrikaan and so I do not know what the article in Republikein Online says.
A friendly greeting.
So I imagine, and perhaps the lion does not speak Afrikaan either, and he did the translation would be something like “Greetings Campers”.

Still that is what you might expect when travelling in lion country. This might be a female, because don’t males have manes?
I did think of a few tasteless jokes, but exercised a better judgment.
It could be a young male or female. But do tell a few of those tasteless jokes. We’ll be the judge.
I’ll cope out on that. A bad joke is probably better left untold.
What I do know is that anyone facing that situation who not regard it as a joke.
But perhaps others might be more willing.
