FRIDAY NIGHT DOG BLOG – RUFF AND READY April 19, 2008

Mountain Girl provided the photo challenge this week – “Rough”. I have to say “ruff and ready” is not too far from the mark for the dogs. I sometimes forget things and have to make do. It rained through the week so we had the deal with the slippery effects both after and during the rainfall. And it is true that I opted once for the ruff and rocky road home – somehow I forget about other dogs along the way. (As this set of photos is put together, consistent with the theme, Emmylou Harris is singing “Rough and Rocky”.)

Dexter does not appear to be happy:

Here is my attempt to address the “Rough and Rocky” road theme:

So I am thinking of rocks and roads:

Sasha is at her ease in the after effects of the rain:

Let’s take the road – or slide down the embankment!

Four legs good . . .

Dexter poses:

As the gentle rain falls the gloss is temporarily taken off the outing, even for Sasha:

“You have caused me lots of trouble . . .
Don’t that road look rough and rocky . . .”

But I am sure he does not mean to – hearken the dog whisperer. Perhaps Dexter can learn greater discrimination as to what he chews when left with Sasha.

As always, we seek to brush ourselves down and step up to the quarterdeck and join Friday Ark. (The photos enlarge when clicked on.)

[And here is Emmylou Harris singing via You Tube,"Rough and Rocky" : (embedding disabled) - a bit messy but in that case I will open up a second window.]

Postscript:

My ignorance of popular culture is so great that I knew nothing about the cartoon show.

Thanks for the comment Colleen.

I thought I was being original, but I suppose on reflection it is not surprising the pun has had a previous run.
